Eden Autism's Princeton Lecture Series Returns Sept. 11

Eden Autism’s Princeton Lecture Series will bring together leaders in autism services during “Advancing Autism Care Through Innovation” on Friday, September 11.

The one-day conference will highlight experts whose research and clinical care provide insights into mental health and self-injurious behavior for individuals with autism, as well as staff training across service settings. Held September 11, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., individuals can join virtually or in person at the NJHA Conference and Event Center, 760 Alexander Road, Princeton, NJ.

This year’s Lecture Series features Vanessa Bal, Ph.D., Professor and Chair of the Department of Applied Psychology at the Rutgers Graduate School of Applied & Professional Psychology. Dr. Ball will present “It Takes a Village: A Tiered Approach to Promoting Mental Health and Wellness for Autistic Individuals.”

Eli Newcomb will present “Lessons from the Field: A Decade of OBM Research on Staff Training and Performance Management.” Newcomb is the Vice President of Clinical Standards and Research at The Faison Center, a Virginia-based nonprofit providing lifespan services for individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities.

Griffin W. Rooker, Ph.D., BCBA, LBA is the Director of the Applied Behavior Analysis Graduate Programs at Mount St. Mary's University, where he founded the Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis program and co-founded the Blue Peak Center for Applied Behavior Analysis. He will present “Why Does Self-Injury Happen? A Bio-Behavioral Approach to Assessment and Treatment” during this year’s conference.

Bruce Tinor, Ph.D., BCBA, will present “The Role of the BCBA in Strengthening Collaborative Partnerships Across Service Settings.” Dr. Tinor is a seasoned school administrative leader in Pennsylvania public schools, where he leads district-wide initiatives in instructional improvement, behavioral supports, and system development.

Admission for in-person attendance is $125 and includes breakfast and lunch. Virtual registration is $75. The event is free for students, and 4.5 BACB GEN CEUSs and 6 COA hours are available for attendees.
