Celebrating 35 Years of Impact and the Launch of Princeton AlumniCorps’ Strategic Vision

Princeton AlumniCorps Launches New Strategic Vision

Princeton AlumniCorps proudly celebrates 35 years of advancing civic leadership and systemic change through a lens of equity and justice. Princeton AlumniCorps is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is committed to building a more just, equitable, and sustainable society by developing and engaging leaders and professionals of all ages to advance social change.

Founded in 1989 when Ralph Nader and members of Princeton’s Class of 1955, known as the “55ers,” gathered to imagine how Princeton alumni could contribute to the greater good, Princeton AlumniCorps has upheld the conviction that “the function of leadership is to produce more leaders, not more followers.” Over the past 35 years, the organization has engaged more than 2,500 alumni and volunteers, partnered with over 500 nonprofit organizations, and fostered a dynamic community united by service and civic purpose.

Building upon 35 years of success, AlumniCorps is now poised for its next evolution and expansion by returning to the original vision of the Class of 1955 by establishing The Center for Civic Leadership.

This new strategic vision will expand our mission by providing a space to support and inspire democracy, community collaboration, and real-world problem-solving through robust leadership training and development. The Center will expand AlumniCorps’ mission through flagship programs Project 55 Fellowship and Emerging Leaders, enhanced local community programming, and new initiatives, including roundtable discussions, public forums, mentorship, workshops, and an annual civic engagement speaker series.

As Princeton AlumniCorps looks to the future, its programs, partnerships, and people continue to reflect the enduring spirit of its founders. The organization remains dedicated to connecting people, ideas, and institutions to create a more just and sustainable society for generations to come.
