107.7 The Bronc is one of five college radio stations nominated for a 2026 NAB Marconi Radio Award
Rider University’s student-run radio station, 107.7 The Bronc, has earned its record sixth nomination in seven years for the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) College Radio Station of the Year award.
“This year's nomination came as a total surprise, but was welcome news for our entire team of student broadcasters,” says General Manager John Mozes. “These Broncs never, ever rest on their laurels. They are always looking for new ways to create content, from adding live, in-studio video streaming of our student shows to sideline reporting during all of our live sports broadcasts. It really just goes to show that when you work hard all year round, take strategic risks and never lose the passion for the content you create, good things will always happen.”
107.7 The Bronc is one of only five collegiate stations nominated for the 2026 NAB Marconi Radio Award, the highest recognition in the broadcast industry.
“When you hear that 107.7 The Bronc WRRC-FM has been nominated for another Marconi Award, you realize the work we do is bigger than any one person,” says Dan Loges, a junior music production major and the station’s student assistant general manager.“ Countless hours go into this station every day, and this nomination reflects the passion and dedication of everyone who has helped make it what it is. It's an incredible honor to see that work recognized on a national stage.”
107.7 The Bronc has been consistently recognized for its excellence, having won three Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) Media Awards in February. The station continues to improve upon its existing capabilities, recently adding video streaming to embrace the evolving media landscape.
“To be nominated for six out of the last seven years is not just a streak. I believe it's a testament to all the great things this radio station does year in and year out,” says Kadie DiGiuseppe, a senior sports media major and the station’s student general manager. “These student leaders set the path for future students to thrive, learn and feel welcomed all at the same time.”
The winners will be announced at the 2026 NAB Marconi Radio Awards on Oct. 20 in New York City. Established in 1989 and named after inventor and Nobel Prize winner Guglielmo Marconi, the NAB Marconi Radio Awards recognize overall excellence in radio by honoring outstanding stations, on-air personalities, podcasts and industry leaders.
